Write out the names of your characters and explain
1) how you thought of their name
2) what made you create the character in the first place
3) how the character has changed over time (if they have changed)
4) any random fun fact about that character
Edward MacKay/John Chase
1) Well, MacKay is obviously a Scottish last name and I wanted something to fit with his heiratage, also I think Edward is too? It also flows pretty well I think. His alias came from John which is obviously a really generic name (because he wouldn't want to stand out, and Chase because well, lol it's really lame but most cop's last names are one syllable and I wanted something snappy and easy to remember.
2) I wanted to write a good detective type after playing endless games of Mafia in Belize. So yes, Edward was born
3) Oh goodness how he has deviated. He was originally going to be straight as an arrow, dashing, charmer type. Instead I wound up writing him to be grumpy, scottish, alcoholic and closet homosexual. But hey, that's far more interesting, right?
4) Fun fact - he's dyslexic.
Dr. Ian Quinley
1) Ian was a name that just came to me while I was thinking him up on the plane, I can't remember if there were any other names that were potential candidates, if there were I've certainly forgotten them. Quinley is originally Irish, but Ian himself is Canadian. His grandparents moved to Canada from Ireland in the like, famine times.
2) Well, I wanted to expand on the story of Bianca's first husband, since blythe and I had figured out that Dallas was her second husband who she had Hannah with. So the first? Well that was Ian.
3) He's always been the 'super nice guy that everything bad happens to' in my head. Always.
4) Fun fact - he's infertile from a recurring bout of TB he contracted while working in Rhodesia
